Giving is
Living

Cast
your bread upon many waters for you will find it after
many days. Eccl. 11:1
Giving is a FORCE that not only helps another but mostly
it releases blessings to the giver. Most of us like to think of
giving in terms of money. But really, “giving” can be and
should be a lifestyle.
How?
You may ask.
Make
a deliberate choice to give something away everyday. The most
precious gifts you can give cost you nothing – love, time,
praise and encouragement. Certainly we can give people money
also.
One
of the greatest hindrances to giving is our past experience. We
all know people who have taken advantage of us. But that
shouldn’t stop us from a lifestyle of giving. If we don’t give,
it stops the circulation of God’s blessing. We create clogged
up pipes making it hard to keep money flowing back in our
direction. The very nature of giving is to be unselfish.
Amazingly, if we’re cynical, critical or negative about giving,
we hurt ourselves the most.
The
cool thing about money is it needs to flow. Money has its
greatest impact when it is circulated. You see, giving is like
planting a seed. Unless we sow the seed, we can’t reap a
harvest. So be generous. Be the biggest tip giver. Pay your
employees as best as you can. Praise more than you criticize
them. Give where nobody is watching and you’ll be amazed what
God gives back to you. By the way, be generous to
your own family!
Remember, giving is living. Giving and receiving are two sides
of the same coin. And don’t be worried of giving too much. I’m
yet to meet a person who went broke by giving.
Give
and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken
together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with
the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to
you.” Luke 6:38
