Simon went to
preach the Gospel in a village filled with
Hindu fanatics.
He
was knocking door to door with the Good News.
Suddenly
more than hundred fanatics appeared and began to beat him with
iron rods and sticks.
The mob kicked him and spit on him
and put a garland of shoes to dishonor him.
Simon was very thin.
But
because of severe beatings, his body swelled up like a balloon.
Villagers took Simon to a police station.
As
Simon waited for the inspector, he was praying in his heart
quietly.
He did not pray for his own release
instead he prayed for an opportunity to witness to the inspector
and the police brigade.
Finally
the inspector arrived.
He
listen to the villagers and then he turned to Simon.
He asked, "Do you have anything to
defend yourself with?"
Simon
was very happy for the opportunity to witness.
The Holy Spirit rose up in Simon.
He
challenged the crowd and prophesied to them that God was going
to build a church through them in that village.
Today
there is a church in that village built by his persecutors.
There are fifty people coming
to this church.
